In a tribute to the Japanese tourists who come in increasing numbers to our small town of Kailua, I asked my husband to take a picture of our Saturday breakfast at Mokes Bread and Breakfast, our favorite place to spend a morning's meal.
Mokes is a very homey place, located almost in the middle of town next to the long running and famous-in- many- circles Peppino's pizza. We have been fans of Mokes since first discovering it three years ago. They have the BEST hashbrowns, the freshest and most perfectly ripe papaya, delicious waffles and excellent "american breakfasts." Aloha flows, and owner/hostess Terri and her crew pop by with coffee and water at just the right moment.
Mokes is very near to the original Lanikai Bath and Body, and not too far from our
new store. So when you are visiting Kailua, be sure to visit Mokes -- and Lanikai Bath and Body, of course!
