Mangoes Growing

A month ago we showed you the Hayden Mango blossoms on our tree ... now we show you the Hayden mangoes bulking up like mangoes should.

One slight problem: this is supposed to happen in June. That's picking Mango season. So we are seeing changes from climate here, too --- it is just more subtle
than the 85 degree streak they've had on the East Coast this past week.

These mangoes will soon be ready for Mango Chutney.

But there are always Mango Coconut products available at Lanikai Bath and Body: body lotion, body wash, body scrub and salt, shapoom and conditionr. Except the scrubs and salts, everything comes in an 8.5 ounce set for home and a 2.2 ounce set for travel. With summer coming, the scent of Mango Coconut will remind you of the beach!

And don't forget Lanikai Bath and Body's Island Mango Poi Dog Shampoo for your best friend!

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter

But it is --- it is Lanikai Bath and Body body butter!
Little Gabby got into the Lanikai Bath and Body body butter and since it smelled so good, she thought it would be great to do a thorough cover up! And so she did.

Now looking at her tiny hands covered in the body butter, is she wondering what that stuff in her hair is? Is she wondering if she can get it out before Mom or Grandmom shows up? Does she really care?

No matter how you slice or smear it, Gabby knows a good thing when she sees or smells it. We love you Gabby -- from all the Soap Fairies at Lanikai Bath and Body!

Spring Mud Washes Off Easily ...

Spring mud washes off easily with Poi Dog Shampoo.

If your best friend has taken a stroll -- or taken a roll -- in the mud of springtime, we recommend that you give him (or her) a bath in Lanikai Bath and Body's Poi Dog Shampoo. They'll love it, you'll love it and they will smell like Island Mango.

One of our loyal customers wrote us that Poi Dog shampoo was the only thing that kept
her pit bull's rash at bay. Who knows what Lanikai Poi Dog Shampoo will do for your best friend?

Put Your Best Foot Forward

When it's sandal and slipper time on the mainland, it's time to get your feet ready for summer.

If you haven't the time or inclination for a professional pedicure, we have a suggestion: start with our Lanikai Bath and Body Peppermint Foot Scrub and Peppermint
Foot Cream. Because they are infused with essential oil of peppermint, you can get those heels in shape, and feel the cool relaxation of Peppermint, confident that painted toenails or not, your feet will look perfect this summer!

Summer's Coming

It's hard to believe that summer is right around the corner, especially with the record heat for our friends on the East Coast, who quite possibly think it has arrived already.

If your skin isn't ready for summer, we recommend any of our sugar-based exfoliating scrubs (Mango Coconut, Rose, Green Tea, Orange Blossom and many more to choose from) to get your skin soft and smooth.

Also recommended? Our Hawaiian Healing Salve for those rough, cracked places or any of our rich body butters (in your favorite scent of course!)

Check out our website at www.lanikaibathandbody.com or stop by our store in Kailua and we'll help get you set for summer!

A Fresh Batch Of Lanikai Breeze

A fresh batch of Lanikai Breeze lotion awaits you at Lanikai Bath and Body. The lovely combination of soft and soothing lotion scented with lilikoi and pineapple is hard to resist.

Other pieces of our collection that feature the fresh scent of pineapple are our 8.5 ounce Pineapple Coconut lotion, our Pineapple Chunk glycerin soap and Pineapple hand wash for kitchen or bath ...

When you're in Hawai`i, it's hard to resist pineapple. When you're at Lanikai Bath and Body, it's hard to resist any one of our pineapple collection.

Lanikai Lightning

This most incredible photo was taken by Owen Norton, who just lost his fabulous, loving wife to cancer. We had to share it with you.

Living Wall

This shot of Kailua Town Center was picked up from Kaneohe Ranch's website because it is so beautiful and shows what a really good job they are doing making Kailua a super small beach town that is unrivaled ... here or anywhere, in our humble opinion.

For those of you who haven't been here in a while, this building sits where Island Treasures and Straub Clinic were ...They are now across the street.

The size of the building is completely mitigated by the living walls, the beautiful
mosaic tiles and the landscaping all around.

We're In The Middle Of It All

This mish mash of logos is from our town landlord's website (www.kaneoheranch.com)

We noticed that Lanikai Bath and Body is right in the middle of the "tenant collage",
and we're right in the middle of our small town, too.

Come and visit Kailua, where you can do really cool things, and visit our store and many others!

Kailua Bids Adieu to Fireworks

This year, for the first time in a veeerrry long time, Kailua Beach will not be the
scene of more than 2500 people sitting cheek to jowl, sharing blankets, talking story and eating plate lunch on July 4th.

The small committee of committed Kailuans which ran the fireworks and raised money for it the last three years has understandably moved their focus back on to their own small businesses, including Lanikai Bath and Body. Partner Brook Gramann was the driving force behind the fireworks effort but the job belongs to a big company with lots of employees.

What a present such a title sponsor could bring Kailua?!

This NOT how we travel in Kailua

That being said, I decided to put this picture up, from a long ago trip to the opening of Nordstrom's at Ala Moana, because there are plenty of rich visitors to Kailua who do.

But this is a casual town, a place where there are bikes you can take for an hour or rent, there are Segway tours, and it's a wonderful walking town.

We are committed Kailuans, and so happy to have our store Lanikai Bath and Body in a town where most modes of transportation are pretty low key. Come visit when you are in Hawaii!

Beach? Not Today?

We have had several days of rain and comparatively cool weather. The island of Kauai has been battered with rain, and flood watches and warnings are broadcast at least once an hour.

We're all hoping for sun soon... we hope that our visitors will find plenty to do in our friendly little town, including a stop at Lanikai Bath and Body.

Sorry about the weather. We don't like it either. Bucky Fuller used to say "You didn't invent the universe, and you ain't running it."

Awapuhi Blossoms

Paul Mitchell was the first to make Awapuhi an ingredient in demand in shampoo.

Well, Lanikai loves it too. This picture is a red ginger, or Awapuhi in Hawaiian, that is blossoming.

Our wonderful Lanikai Breeze Shampoo has awapuhi, along with many other soothing ingredients. Made in Hawaii. Naturally.

Lanikai Loves Liz Loves Lanikai

This title is sort of like those annoying "Before and After" puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. But it's true.

Liz Howard helped us set up our first store, always buys her Christmas presents at the store and has been a friend of Lanikai Bath and Body since the beginning.

This picture was taken at Le Bistro in Niu Valley, one of our favorite restaurants.
The hat is from Bonnie Madigan's "Under Hula Moon," our neighbors and a favorite store in Kailua.

What did we give her? Lanikai Bath and Body of course. Specifically, we gave her Orchid Vanilla wash and lotion and a "naked" Orchid Vanilla Soap, Plumeria Hand Sanitizer (with safe sugar cane alcohol), and Pikake 2.2 lotion for her car.

Lanikai Bath and Body is the perfect place to shop for birthdays -- or any day!
