Pretty Plumeria Topped Our List This Christmas
At Christmas time again once again, our Plumeria line of lotion topped our list. Nipping at its heels were Fresh Pineapple Soap, Pikake Body Lotion, Naupaka Body Lotion, and Mango Coconut Lotion.
There is lots more to choose from, and we are introducing two more Lanikai Ts this year, plus a special T that will keep your little ones busy while you read romance novels on the beach. Seriously, we read that romance novels are popular with Kindle owners because no one can see the cover.
It's December 29th, we're approaching the last time any private person can use aerial fireworks so it ought to be nuts on New Year's Eve.

New Lanikai Tees
New Lanikai Bath and Body t-shirts are in --- women's in turquoise, men's in a dark
navy blue : both feature the Mokuluas, the horizon and Lanikai's classic signature.
Pictured here are Erin and Emi -- Emi just got home from college for Christmas and
we're lucky to have her back while she is here! (sorry the pic's a bit fuzzy!)
We are hoping Mandi and Halley, off to the mainland for Christmas, will have a safe trip and a great holiday!
Hawai`i's First Dog
Pictured here is Hawai`i's Governor Neil Abercrombie, his wife Nancie Caraway, Hawai`i's Pet Nanny Tammy Kubo and Hawai`i's first dog.
It is unclear whether Kanoa and Bo, the nation's first dog, have planned a summit meeting while Bo is visiting the islands, but we do know that both of them have Hawai`i's favorite dog shampoo, Lanikai Poi Dog.
Hawai`i's Pet Nanny, Tammy Kubo is a great patron of Lanikai Bath and Body and is wonderful at spreading the good word about the store about town. Especially about Poi Dog.

More Celebration
Soap Fairies Celebrate The Season
Taking a moment off from the busy season at the store (thank you customers, online and in store!!!), we had our annual holiday celebration at Baci Bistro, one of Kailua's most popular restaurants. The folks who own it (Bill and Company) are genial beyond belief, and the food is reliably delicious.
Our choices ranged from clams on the half shell and gnocchi to chicken picatta and pasta with marinara and house-made sausage. Of course, we started with brushetta and those of us old enough to drink had red wine and a margarita or two. Finished it off with profiteroles and creme brulee, and the secret Santas whose giftees all knew who they were.
So gifts were very appropriate, and here is Erin -- due in late March-- with Lanikai's third baby. We love our soap fairies, one and all.

A Sign in Our Store?
We hope it's much more than that. If we could wish for anything, and wish we do, it would be for peace ... peace in our hearts, peace between families, peace between friends and enemies, peace on this planet.
How far we have come and how little progress we have made. Pray for peace, think about peace ... do whatever it is that you do... and as Tiny Tim said "God bless us,
everyone."
OMG! One Contest Too Far?
We just found out about it because of the alert anchors on the Today Show --- but it turns out that the BIG EVENT was on October 10. A pageant for women over 60. Imagine
that! It was won by Dr. Kimberly Moore of the Virgin Islands (anybody see any irony in that?).
Anyway, there is no prize money (what!!!) but she will get to travel the U.S. to "show what older women can do."Well, we at Lanikai Bath and Body wish Dr. Moore the best of travels... and we are not surprised that senior women get 0% of what men might be paid for the same thing.
Dr. Moore -- if you come to Hawai`i, call us: you have the run of the store, and your beauty will be enhanced by out tropical scents, our yummy scrubs, and our soothing salts.

Still Looking for Sunshine in Kailua
But our rain is better than Chicago's snow!
A tropical rainstorm greeted Michelle, the kids and Bo (the dog) when they arrived on
O'ahu on Saturday. Still raining, but the sun will be out to greet the President when he arrives on Wednesday (so we are told).
Welcome, Welcome --- BIG ALOHA --- to our first family. So glad they keep choosing
Kailua.

Sunshine Please!
Pouring Rain in Kailua Today
The rain is coming down heavily, reminiscent of four years ago when we had forty days and forty nights of bad weather. But this rain will go away, we're told, by the weekend.
Unlike the mainland, where we have friends and family who are adding to their Snuggie collection. The highest temp we read on the weather channel's map is 55. Except for here in Hawai`i where 55 counts as cold beyond belief.
Despite the rain we are warm and cozy, and wishing everyone on our list could be too.
Winter time is time for body butters, peppermint foot scrubs, bath salts and scrubs.
The soap fairies are waiting for your order -- and will wrap with aloha!
Alana and Sami send a Hawaiian hello.

Beautiful Window
Decorating for holidays ~ we want Lanikai Bath & Body to be as subtle and contemporary as today's Hawai`i.
We're not sure if you've noticed, but the (formerly Lanikai-green) Naupaka blossom on the window is now seasonal-red.
We're playing Christmas music now, too, and complimentary gift wrapping for all.
