In Unfamiliar Fishes, NPR's Sarah Vowell has written a remarkable and very readable comprehensive, but short history of Hawai`i's road to become the 50th State.
Her research is thorough, and her appreciation of the bittersweet place that is our Hawai`i is extraordinary.
You can't "look inside" here, but you can on Amazon, where Unfamiliar Fishes has received many positive reviews, for its accuracy.
