Elizabeth Taylor Used Jergens Lotion

At least that's what my mother read or heard somewhere, oh so long ago, and for the rest of her life that was good enough for her. Prior to that she used Blue Grass by
Elizabeth Arden.

Now, I am quite positive that my mother would use Lanikai Bath and Body products --- not just because I am her daughter but because they are as natural as can be, and they have the scent of Hawai`i, which would bring her back to what I like to think of as her favorite place in the world.

Alas, Mother died before we opened Lanikai Bath and Body --- but her love of "hand cream" was legendary (on the table beside her bed: the phone, a note pad and pen, and a bottle of hand cream du jour).

Back to "Liz" : Aloha Ms. Taylor -- the likes of whom we will most likely never see again!

Breezy Tradewinds

Breezy tradewinds are sweeping through the trees and it's generally cool outside.

Lanikai Bath and Body's Air Aromatherapy feels like it was painted in the south of France by Cezanne.

Laurel Gives A Tummy Rub Goodbye

Pictured here is soap fairy Laurel giving a tummy rub good bye to popular shop dog Zulu, who has reached the age at which he can probably stay at home alone while Momma Halley and Poppa Sam go about earning savings for his college education.

Orchid Vanilla is NOT Ice Cream??!!

At the tender age of one, our friend Sasha has learned that Orchid Vanilla is a lotion made by Lanikai Bath and Body, and not a flavor of ice cream as she had presumed.

Her mother better get her some ice cream, quick!

Alana Is On Top of the World

Those who follow this blog know that Alana moved to the West Coast (San Jose) earlier
this year and she is having a blast. Going to school, riding her skateboard and taking the bus, and looking for a job (hard to get everywhere).

It's quite possible that when Sami goes to the WC for college, she and Alana may be
roommates!

P.S. Alana says Lanikai Bath and Body scents "wow" them on the mainland.

Brook is Gonna Need A Lot of Poi Dog Shampoo

I wonder if the leashes do any good? They -- Oreo, BooBoo, Grizzly, Layla and Puka --
love to roll in the mud and hang out under the house.

They definitely need a lot of Lanikai Bath and Body Island Mango Poi Dog Shampoo!

Slippahs Are Back

Our wonderful small slippah soaps are back. They are walking all over the store --- on the front of the cash wrap, in special containers of their own.

Slippah Soaps are the perfect guest soap, and they brighten up everybody's day!

Isn't It Just Like Mango Coco...

To be sunning on the beach?

Besides Plumeria, Lanikai Bath and Body's Mango Coconut line will remind you most of
sitting by the sea side soaking up the sun.

Scrubilicious

At a wedding show, we displayed our scrubs like the yummy little dishes they are.

They've recently been reviewed by one of the beauty blogs and the blogger agreed: they each have a fantastic, true-to-life scent and are perfect for rough areas. Honest to goodness, one person we know uses Lanikai Bath and Body Scrubs on her face!

Tahitian Gardenia. Plumeria. Orchid Vanilla. Green Tea. Kamuela Rose. Mango Coconut...

Slight Diversion

I just finished reading The Paris Wife. It is written in the voice of Hadley Richardson Hemingway, by Paula McClain. Author Paula McClain did mountains of research and the result is a compelling, believable read.

If you are interested in Hemingway, you would probably enjoy it. Now, I am rereading A Moveable Feast where he pays tribute to Hadley -- the woman he failed to mention, but was by his side the whole time he wrote The Sun Also Rises.

P.S. He carried an Underwood (I think) like this one in a case everywhere he went: to bullfights, the war front and small rooms in Paris.

Talented Sand Artistry

With so much sand around, artist Jiffy Schneider steps out her front door and her tools are at her feet. She makes frames and mirrors, and we love them.

We're Just Wild About Poi Dog

If you can't be here, you can see here, our new signage for our favorite doggie shampoo.

Blessings for Japan

In addition to texting the American Red Cross to donate $10, these little jars are popping up at stores around town from the Japanese Red Cross, asking for donations.
Ours is setup visibly on the cash wrap, and here is a picture of lovely Lia making the point: let's all do whatever is in our power to help our good friends in Japan.

Cool Blue

Our new reusable blue Lanikai bags are really terrific. They portend a new line of
paper bags which will arrive in late spring and which we think you will really like.

Hope that everyone is enjoying a respite from the winter weather, and this pic of Halley at our Kailua store.

Just thinking about Lanikai Bath and Body makes me relax!

Casual Beach Elegance...

...or indoor sophistication. Either way, bridal season is coming up and Lanikai Bath and Body's wonderful collection makes great bridesmaids or groomsmen gifts (a wash and a lotion in a perfect lauhala bag) or favors ---small boxed bathsalts --- for all of your guests.
