Love Is in the Air

...on the internet that is. Our Valentine's Day contest with a $250 spa basket prize has been posted on several beauty blogs across the net.

As a result, we are getting hundreds of entries (emailing us the word "Love") from all across the internet world.

We will be announcing the winner after Valentine's Day, and wish EVERYONE the best of luck.

At Your Valentine's Service

Erin, Veronica, and Sami are just a few of the beauties who will be wrapping, packing and sending off your Lanikai Bath and Body Valentine's Day Presents. Alana -- far right --- is off to live in San Jose (does she know the way?) after three years of taking care of our customers.

If you can't figure out what to give, feel free to call the store (808.262.3260) or email gloria@lanikaibathandbody.com

We'll get back to you as soon as we can with suggestions on everything from bath salts and scrubs, body washes, lotions and butters, massage oils and more...

Shimmering Salts

In the middle of what we hear is the most-snow-of-all-time-since-the-ice-age-winter, what better way to relax than the salts of Lanikai Bath and Body. Pour some in a hot tub, and forget about the weather.

We can see how even y'all are getting sick of the wet stuff, the white stuff and the frozen stuff. It's gorgeous here -- we even missed a rain storm that was supposed to cause flooding!

Hope that all of this is not too bad for you and that you and your loved ones have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Me Ke Aloha

Too Cool for School

Lanikai Bath and Body has a number of new t-shirt designs available -- and they are flying off the shelves. Pictured here is our Peace Love and Lanikai (bath and body) chocolate women's shirt. Women's shirts are slim fit.

Other options including colors and sizes are on the website (www.lanikaibathandbody.com) ---

It is defintiely t-shirt time here in Hawaii, but we can see from the weatherman that it's not, definitely not, t-shirt time on the mainland. Still, you can pretend.

Hope to see you in Hawai`i this winter.

Big Aloha!

Our Air is Beautiful

One of the best things about living in Hawai`i is the air. Almost always clear, the tradewinds -- breezes-- keep the temperature feeling perfect. The skies are dramatic and different every evening. Seeing the rays that reach for the ground from the behind the clouds down the majestic mountains never gets old

Part of our aroma therapy line, "Air" is especially refreshing. Tangerine and Orange. Rose Geranium. Ylang Ylang. These essential oils are known for their ability to elevate and soothe the psyche and spirit and to nurture the skin. Fresh, Natural. Made in Hawaii. Naturally, and paraben free.

Today, we got an email from one of our customers saying "Air" was their favorite in our aromatherapy line. Who knows? It might be yours, too.

We Carry Your Hearts...

We've printed eecummings' famous poem here before and now it seems apropos to the recent tragedy in Tuscon. God bless Congresswoman Giffords, all who were wounded, and all who have lost someone they love.

"I Carry Your Heart With Me"

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Aroma ... therapy

Four carefully mixed products, made exclusively of essential oils, blended in the right amounts to energize, uplift, balance, and refresh.

Pictured here is "Earth," a favorite of many of our customers:
Sandalwood is balancing to both the mind and the body. Sandalwood trees once grew abundantly on the slopes of Haleakala on Maui. The essential oil, with its grounding and exotic aroma is distilled from the bark of the trees. It is known for its ability to harmonize, warm and balance. Rosewood essential oil distilled from the wood, has a tonic effect on the nervous system. Patchouli is steam distilled from the dried, fermented leaves of the plant. It has a rich, woodsy and earthy aroma and has been known to stimulate, soothe the skin and to be used as a fixative in perfumery. Bergamot, pressed from the peel of the citrus fruit, adds a light and refreshing note to this blend and helps to nurture and balance. Earth/Balancing is toning and antiseptic to the skin. Fresh, Natural. Made in Hawaii.

Maui Cane Sugar Infuses Our Scrubs

We have changed the formula of our scrubs for a big improvement and playing to rave reviews. We're trying to be eco-smart and not throw out the old labels, but we wanted to tell you the news.

There is a trend in food now to replace fructose corn syrup with ECJ (Evaporated Cane Juice) which is, in reality, the first processing of the cane.

In our scrubs, it is fresh, gently exfoliating, and makes your skin super smooth.

We hope everyone will try the new scrubs (in their favorite scent of course) and let us know what you think!

Aloha Oe, Auld Lang Syne & Happy Birthday

It's not true that all we do is have parties, but we must share with you some news about the soap fairies:
Tori got into the University of Chicago
Emily celebrated her 21
Brook had a birthday, too
Lauren has a birthday coming up
Alana is moving to San Jose
and much much more ... so, of course we had to have a party. We will especially miss
Alana who has been with us for three years, and is the epitome of the Lanikai Girl.

Things have started off well for us in 2011 and we hope they have for you, too. Watch for some new product introductions and we have some great Lanikai T-shirts, too.

All the best today, 1/11/11 and for the rest of this year.

Happy New Year!

From All of us at Lanikai Bath and Body.

This looks very New Yearsy but has nothing to do with Lanikai Bath and Body or New Year's for that matter.

Thought we'd show it to you anyway: It's LeBron James' birthday cake. (He's 26).
