It Happened in Hartford

One of our good friends, Mary Goodbody, volunteers in a fourth grade class in Hartford, Ct. and has for years. She also loves our Lanikai products.

Following is a real conversation that took place this week:

student: You smell like the beach
Mary: It's my shampoo. It's coconut.
student: I love it.
Mary: I got it in Hawaii.
student: I want to go to Hawaii.
Mary: I hope you can someday. You would love it.
student: Oh, I only want to go there to get the shampoo.

Lanikai Bath and Body: our products are cooler than Hawai`i!!!!

Kids At Christmas

Last Christmas, actually -- but this is what it looks like in Kailua
at this time of year.

Hope that you're not too cold!

Candle,Candle Burning Bright

Bring the scents of Hawai`i home with our beautiful palm wax candles. Coconut lime seems to be everybody's favorite, but each scent captures perfectly a memory of Hawai`i nei ~ real or imagined!

Palm wax is environmentally friendly and long burning, and has a magnificent ability to retain scent and color.

Our palm candles are made by hand, here in Lanikai ~ and are as lovely as Lanikai itself.

A Red Lehua Lei ...

for Thanksgiving Day. From everyone at Lanikai Bath and Body. Be safe. Be kind.
Be happy.

Magnificent Mangoes

Mangoes are one of Hawai`i's favorite crops, and though it is not currently our season, you can now get imported mangoes in the market throughout the year. We have become, in the time I have lived here, a place where you can have it all (even though you already have it all just by being in Hawai`i).

One way we love mango is in the scent of our Mango Coconut line, which has a lotion, a butter, salts, shampoo, a scrub, a wash and a conditioner. What luxury.

Anyway, rememeber our Spa gift giveway is still on, and you can order our butters for 20% off up to and through Thanksgiving.

Aloha!

Breeze but No Rain

We actually have a station in Hawai`i which calls it's weather report "Severe Weather".

This is the irony of ironies, except when they get lucky and can predict, like they have this week, a giant group of thundstorms staring down the Islands. Well, here we are on flood-watch-Friday and no rain.

But at Lanikai, we have the beautiful Lanikai Breeze line -- shampoo, wash and lotion -- all different scents and in 16 ounces. They'll brighten your day, shine up your hair, smooth out your skin and make you happy.

Lanikai sends its warm love to all our friends in cold weather climes...

Sneak Peek Inside the Store

Besides our lovely soap fairies, which I mentioned in a previous blog, the store is full of wonderful made-in-Hawai`i product from soaps and lotions, washes and shampoos, massage oils and mists, big candles and little candles, hand sanitizers -- even gorgeous prints of photos by Hawai`i photographer Douglas Peebles.

We're getting ready to decorate for Christmas and we'll have a few special Christmas items in. Our popular bella tees with a Lanikai Naupaka on the right shoulder -- in blue and yellow and yellow and blue will be back. Hopefully, our Buddha Surf t-shirts will be in,too.

However you look at it, Lanikai Bath and Body will be a cool place to shop this Christmas --- if you are mailing to someone on another island, the mainland or abroad --- or even on the island of O`ahu, we'll take care of it for you. Be sure to order by December 15, so we can make sure to get your good wishes there --wherever it is -- on time!

Soap Fairies Redux

A totally cool thing has happened at Lanikai. Actually, many totally cool things:
1. Mandi is back. She left earlier this year to help Ezra with his Blue Sky Pool business, and now that she has him organized, she has some time for us!
2. Mandi's sister Veronica joined us several months ago and she is the most grown up 17 year old ever!
3. Sami, Mark's math student and Veronica's classmate, is also on board -- you can't match her cheerfulness and outgoing presence.
4. Alana,by now the old timer, is ever the gray-green-blue-eyed Hawaiian Beauty.
5. Laurel, who works on Friday and Saturday also works at Wayne & Mona's Lanikai Home. Dark haired, lovely and good company.
6. Halley, one of the first members of the lady Vulcan basketball team at UH Hilo, towers over all of us and her beauty sparkles.
7. Erin, the adorable soon-to-be Momma, applies her multi-year Victoria Secret skills to the max -- lucky for us she lives Kailua.

Alas, Margaret decided to leave -- lots to do as Grandma to Sam's little Kiyana (Sam took to motherhood completely!) and travels with Doug. We will miss Margaret a lot!

What else can we say?

Hana Hou to Aloha!

To Aloha Saiki that is, who won our facebook online contest with this beautiful
picture of a boy and the Mokuluas.

Thanks, everyone, for entering, and especially to our winner whose name is as lovely as her photograph.

Be sure to catch up with us on Facebook so you can win our next contest. And we hope you and your family are getting ready for a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend.

Winter Colds

We've been watching the weather reports and talking to our friends on the mainland and we can see that it is getting colder on the East Coast, and that the freakishly hot weather in LA and San Diego is sending dehydrated people to the hospital.

Sorry about that! It is a little cold (not to you, but to us) here and rainy, but
still beautiful Hawai`i.

For the colds that no doubt will come up this winter, we recommend that you treat yourself to some sanity with Hawaiian scented hand santizers ... purse sized, and for your kitchen or bathroom.

The Freshest of Breezes

Our Lanikai Breeze products come in 16 ounces and differing scents and purposes -- each as refreshing as the one before it.

Lanikai Breeze lotion is a soothing blend of lilikoi and pineapple. Breeze Shampoo has Hawaiian Awapuhi at its base, and the wash is infused with pikake.

Throughout our line of silken bath and body products are the scents of Hawai`i that you know and dream of: plumeria, orchid vanilla, pikake, pineapple coconut, mango coconut, puakeniken, coconut lime verbena ... even "unzented" Buddha Surf.

Come in and try them --- or order on line.

See Our Soaps Down By the Seashore

Our beautiful handmade Hawaiian Soaps have assembled at the ocean's edge, inviting you to share the beauty of Hawai`i, the fresh scent of the ocean breeze, the amazing flowers of Hawai`i in a luxriously yummy bathing experience.
