Dilemma

Back to Bonnie Hunt .. she said the other day that she had never been to Hawaii.

We know she doesn't approve of perfume and other scented things, but a comment like that demands that we send her Plumeria -- the flower most identified with Hawaii.

We can't send a plumeria lei because it will wilt and die (and is possibly prohibited by HDOA). So she will have to endure our beautiful, perfectly scented
Plumeria Lotion.

It is, like Hawaii, Fresh. Natural and -- well -- Hawaiian.

If you are not Bonnie Hunt, you may want to order some Plumeria online -- it's the scent that will bring you back to Hawaii.

Bonnie Hunt Likes to Garden

So she said on a recent show while talking about why she keeps her nails short.

Which reminds us that spring is really just around the corner and the gardening season will shortly be in full force.

For those little cuts and scrapes, Hawaiian Healing Salve is great. So good, in fact, we're sending it to Bonnie.

Let The Sunshine

It isn't the sixties, and Kailua isn't the cast of Hair, but the song comes to mind, on this, our first truly sunny day in about three weeks.

A good time to buy sunscreen at Lanikai Bath and Body -- or our organic Hawaiian Healing Salve -- perfect for perking up winter skin or soothing a Hawaiian sunburn.

Fresh. Natural. Made in Hawaii.

YOgurt MAMA!

Welceome to Kailua. In the space previously occupied by Royal Hawaiian Jewelry the sparkly, brand new, brightly colored YOgurt MAMA! has opened, with all kinds of delicious yogurt, including our favorite, plain tart, and a couple of bars of toppings ranging from good-for-you-stuff to chocolate chips, cocoa kripspies, smashed butterfingers and -- as they say -- more!

It's basically across the street from the soon-to-open Walgreen's. Plenty of parking and definitely worth the stop!

Pictured here is Terry Look with her brother-in-law and co-owner.

Vinnie Does the Taxes

Nobody likes to do taxes. So we were glad when Vinnie sat on ours. Not really.
We were organized. He sat. Then we weren't.

But we did want to thank our customers for a pretty good year. Aloha!

Celebrate International Women's Day

Order online or come to our store in Kailua during the month of March and help us make a donation to Hawaii's Domestic Violence Action Center.

In honor of International Women's Day, March 8, we're donating a portion of our sales to Hawaii's Domestic Violence Action Center. Why? This year's U.N. theme is "Women and Men United Against Violence against Women and Girls"

"Whether you're sending a gift to a friend or relative, or buying for
yourself, Lanikai Bath and Body's luxurious products are a great way to
celebrate being a woman while doing good for other women at the same time,"
said store Manager Margaret Peebles.

International Women's Day grew in part out of Russia's Women's Day, where
men give flowers to their wives, mothers, grandmothers and daughters.
Women are "given more compliments on this day than even on their birthday,"
according to a video posted on the site www.internationalwomensday.com

Since the early 19th Century, International Women's Day has focused on
issues of equality for women, and to celebrate their changing role in
society. International Women's Day will be celebrated throughout the
world, and is an officially holiday in a dozen countries, on March 8, 2009.
